​For 19 years, Wavestage has targeted excellence in stage productions, choral performances and education in voice and drama. We are committed to fostering a life-long enjoyment of performing. The company is supported by volunteers annually from across York Region who assist in set design and building, fundraising and marketing, sewing costumes, and all the little extras that help bring together a community spirit for the arts.

Since it's first season, over 2,000 people have performed with Wavestage Theatre Company in over 90 productions. Look forward to continued excellence in our upcoming productions.

Founder and General Director Sarah Kyle is a three-time winner of the Johnson’s Cultural Achievement Award from the Town of Aurora. Wavestage Theatre Company has also been the recipient of the Town of Aurora's Community Organization of the Year. Sarah has received a Classical Performing Arts award from In Celebration of Women for her valuable contributions to the York Region Arts Community, and several Civic Appreciation Award from the Town of Aurora. Wavestage has been grateful for the Town of Aurora’s Arts and Culture Grants, of which WTC has been awarded many times. Wavestage has also been acknowledged by prime minister Steven Harper.

Wavestage productions are directed by the Founder and General Director, Sarah Langford Kyle. Sarah has had an international career in opera. She has performed leading roles on opera stages, as a symphonic soloist, and has been a concert recitalist on stages in Austria, Italy, Canada, and US. Highlights include: Carmen (Carmen), and Delilah (Samson and Delilah), The Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Dorabella (Cosi Fan Tutte) in many opera houses around the world. She has been a guest soloist at the Vatican and a guest soloist for the Billy Graham Mission. She has two recordings: "Songs of Peace" and "Simple Gifts". She has her Masters Degree in Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto, ARCT in Voice Pedagogy and Performance, International Examiners Qualifications, International European Voice Examiner, BA in Linguistics and Psychology, and is a Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Sarah Kyle has Directed many operas and musicals, taught hundreds of students and examined for the Royal Conservatory, coached singers for Broadway productions at the Princess of Wales and the Royal Alexander, and trained many a pop star.

Wavestage offers unique educational training and performing opportunities for aspiring youth performers. In a fun and engaging environment, students focus on acting, singing and dancing. Classes are lead by supportive, qualified professionals with notable accomplishments who provide participants with opportunities for artistic exploration and self-expression. Our adult company has been recognized as one of the finest in the province. Adults are encouraged to audition for upcoming productions or volunteer behind-the-scenes. Students and adults are also able to participate in our workshops, where they will learn the essential skills necessary for successful musical theatre and opera performance.

Wavestage Theatre Company inspires and entertains audiences with affordable musical theatre productions that range from the classics to new works. We educate, train and nurture the next generation of theatre artists, providing arts education programs that promote excellence in stagecraft.
